Hasi and Hasu
children's bookWhere It All Began
This is the story of Hasi, a girl, who finds
friendship in the oddest of places.
This is the story of Hasu, a cow, who finds
a meal in the oddest of scenarios.
Hasi and Hasu is a children’s book written and illustrated by me, for a college project. Exploring elements of our ‘World’, we were encouraged to observe our world and understand that there is more than what meets the eye.
One such experience for me was understanding how entering college became my new ‘World’, and I explored what it meant to be in such a space; what was foreign to me versus what made me feel at home.
This story illustrates my experience of walking on the streets of Yelahanka, Bangalore. Each journey was different, if I observed closely enough, they wewre all uniquely fascinating. One such journey includes my relationship with a cow I stumbled upon whom I decided to feed every morning on my way to college. This new friendship inspired me to write this story and bring forth these illustrations for the book.
