Where It All Began

For a film course I had taken, I attempted to try out three short films inspired by my surroundings and the briefs given in class. Since I have never explored film making or anything related to it (apart from watching), this process was quite tedious and challenging, but completely worth it because of the different things I was able to learn.

The second film is a witnessing film, We were to witness any event happening at present and film it in it’s most natural state, without necessarily interfering in whatever was happening. I decided it would be apt to show the world the neighbour’s kids, who were determined to come to play every afternoon and evening. While the world sat in their homes and stared at computer screens all day, these three came together to play with their cars with the utmost enthusiasm. I was blessed to be included in their shenanigans while filming, while simultaneously being aware that I had to film the whole video without them knowing. Twas a challenging, yet fun project.
